Kenyon Memorial Proposal:

Kenyon International recently sent information regarding the plans for the memorial to the family members of the Flight 5481 crash victims.  The memorial is planned to be constructed near the crash site.  This is the Kenyon Proposal.

Memorial Site Report:

The week of June 23^rd the families of Paul Stidham and Ima Pearson visited the proposed memorial sites in Charlotte.  This is a report from the Stidhams.

Flight 5481 Memorial Progress:

Kenyon is a company whose goal is to support families after an air disaster in which injury or death has occurred.  Kenyon's services have been secured by Mesa Air Group to act as a liaison in the design and construction of a memorial to the memory of the Flight 5481 crash victims.  To design the memorial they are soliciting the thoughts, ideas and desires of the victims' family members.

Kenyon has submitted pictures of three possible sites for our consideration.  Please follow the links to view the pictures.  The pictures were taken this week.  How they look now and how they will look after the selected site is designed and transformed into  a memorial will be totally different.  For example, the proposed site near the accident site has a fire hydrant in the middle of it.  There are also trees along the road that block the view of the hangar.  All that can be changed to accommodate the wishes of the families and the design of the sites.  Although it will be impossible to get consensus from all the family members, elements of our ideas can be incorporated into the design.  For example, should  the memorial incorporate 21 trees and benches, a granite stone with everyone's name and picture, etc.?  With our ideas, perhaps Kenyon can submit several sketches for our approval. 

Donna Sullivan is coordinating the memorial design with Kenyon.  Paula Pearson (daughter of Ima Pearson) and Elise and Emory Stidham (parents of Paul Stidham) will be going to Charlotte, June 23 - 25 to look at prospective cemetery and memorial sites.   After their visit, we'll be posting their impressions of the site.
